Terms & Conditions

1. Live Animals

  • Health Guarantee: All live animals are sold healthy to the best of our knowledge at the time of sale.

  • Responsibility After Sale: Once an animal leaves our store or is shipped, care and responsibility transfer to the buyer. We do not guarantee against issues arising from improper care, diet, or habitat setup.

  • Returns/Refunds: Live animals cannot be returned or exchanged due to biosecurity and animal welfare concerns. Refunds will only be considered if an animal arrives deceased or in unfit condition, subject to our Live Arrival Guarantee.

  • Live Arrival Guarantee (In-Store, Website & Palmstreet Sales)

    • All live reptiles (and other FedEx-approved live animals) are shipped FedEx Priority Overnight to the nearest FedEx hub for pickup.

    • Customers must pick up their shipment within 2 hours of arrival at the hub.

    • Someone must be available to present valid ID when picking up the package.

    • The package must be opened immediately upon arrival to check the animal’s condition.

    • Any issues must be reported to Birds & Reptiles Plus within 2 hours of pickup, with clear photo or video documentation.

    • Guarantee does not apply if:

      • Incorrect shipping information is provided.

      • The package is not picked up within 2 hours of arrival.

      • Delivery is refused, rescheduled, or delayed due to the buyer’s actions.

      • Animals are exposed to unsafe temperatures, mishandled after pickup, or not cared for properly.

    ⚠️ Carrier Disclaimer: Birds & Reptiles Plus cannot be held liable for FedEx delays, routing errors, or mishandling once the shipment is in carrier possession. Our guarantee only covers animals that meet the above pickup and reporting conditions.


2. Supplies & Dry Goods

  • Condition: All supplies (e.g., cages, lighting, food, bedding, accessories) are new unless otherwise noted.

  • Damaged Merchandise: Unsed, damaged merchandise can be exchanged within 7 days of purchase with the original packaging.

  • Non-Returnable Items: Due to health and safety, opened food, bedding, or supplements cannot be returned.


3. Shipping & Delivery Fees

  • Live Animal Shipping: Live animals are shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight (or equivalent) for the safety of the animals. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

  • Supplies Shipping: Supplies may be shipped via standard carriers. Rates are calculated at checkout.

  • Weather Holds: For the safety of live animals, shipments may be delayed if weather conditions are unsafe (extreme heat or cold). Customers will be notified and shipment will resume as soon as conditions permit.

  • Local Pickup: Customers may choose in-store pickup at no additional cost.


4. General Policies

  • Pricing: All prices are subject to change without notice.

  • Accuracy: While we make every effort to provide accurate descriptions and photos, variations in color, size, and temperament may occur with live animals.

  • Customer Responsibility: It is the buyer’s responsibility to research local, state, and federal regulations before purchasing. Birds & Reptiles Plus is not responsible for animals purchased in violation of such laws.

  • Limitation of Liability: Birds & Reptiles Plus is not liable for injury, illness, or damages resulting from the handling or care of animals purchased.
