Vietnam mossy tree frogs are masters of camouflage, with green and black bumpy skin that makes them look just like a patch of moss. Native to the forests of Vietnam, they thrive in humid, planted enclosures and are a fascinating display species due to their unique appearance and nocturnal habits.

Highlights:

  • Lifespan: 10–15 years in captivity

  • Size: 2.5–3.5 inches as adults

  • Diet: Small gut-loaded insects such as crickets, roaches, and worms (dust with calcium & vitamins)

  • Enclosure: Vertical terrarium, at least 18"x18"x24", with climbing surfaces, live or artificial plants, cork bark, and plenty of hiding spots

  • Temperature/Humidity: 70–80°F with a slight nighttime drop; humidity 60–90% (daily misting essential)

  • Temperament: Shy and nocturnal; best as a visual pet, not for handling

  • Special Notes: Provide a shallow water area with clean, dechlorinated water; bioactive setups work especially well for this species
